This Annapolis Cape Cod had last been painted in 2010. More than a decade of Mid-Atlantic weather had taken its toll — chalky, faded body color, peeling window casing, and oxidized shutters. The homeowners wanted to restore the home's coastal character with a fresh blue-gray palette that would photograph beautifully and stand up to bay humidity.
We performed a complete power wash of all surfaces, followed by hand-scraping and spot-priming all areas with adhesion failure. All trim, window casings, and shutters were removed where possible to ensure full back-coverage. We applied two full coats of a premium exterior acrylic across 2,800 square feet of painted surface, using a contrasting deep navy on shutters and doors.
The finished home looks like it belongs in an Annapolis real estate magazine — and the homeowners agreed. Their Zillow estimate increased by $18,000 in the month following completion, according to the owners.
